What’s new in amanmaps
v2.0File & image sharing
You can now send images and documents directly between your phone and computer, alongside text. Files travel through the same peer-to-peer WebRTC connection as messages — they never touch our servers. Only specific safe file types are accepted (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, PDF, and plain text files), and every file is checked twice: once on the sending side and again on the receiving side, where its actual content signature is verified against its claimed type. Files are also checked against a size limit before any transfer begins. A progress bar shows real-time status during larger transfers, and either side can cancel mid-transfer. Drag-and-drop support works on both devices. Images appear as inline previews in the conversation; documents are offered as downloads. Received files are never auto-opened or auto-executed.

Both the phone and the computer can now send and receive messages — previously only one direction was supported. Each device shows the full conversation, with sent and received messages clearly distinguished by alignment and styling. This makes the chat feel like a proper two-way conversation rather than a one-directional transfer.

The first version of amanmaps. Scan a QR code on the computer screen with your phone to pair them instantly, then share text and links between the two devices in real time. No accounts, no app installs, no data ever stored — the entire session disappears the moment either side refreshes or closes the page. Built on WebRTC with a lightweight signaling server that handles only the connection handshake.
